Financial literacy is an essential life skill that should be introduced from an early age, particularly at the elementary school level. Early financial education helps students understand basic financial concepts, such as money management, saving habits, and distinguishing between needs and wants. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of the Cheerful Saving Program in improving financial literacy among elementary school students. This research employed a quantitative approach using a pre-experimental design with a one-group pretest–posttest model. The participants were elementary school students in grades IV and V at SD Negeri 094101 Limbong, selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using a financial literacy questionnaire and analyzed using descriptive statistics and a paired sample t-test. The results indicate a significant improvement in students’ financial literacy levels after participating in the Cheerful Saving Program. The posttest scores were higher than the pretest scores, and the statistical analysis revealed a significant difference between the two measurements (p < 0.05). These findings suggest that the program effectively enhances students’ understanding of basic financial concepts and fosters positive saving behaviors. In conclusion, the Cheerful Saving Program has a positive and significant impact on improving financial literacy among elementary school students. Therefore, this program is recommended as an effective and practical model for early financial literacy education in elementary schools
