Peer Review

Peer Review

Jurnal Kesehatan (Sisehat) adopts a blind review process which is closely monitored by the editors. Before entering the review stage, editors conduct an editorial analysis to assess both the content and formatting of the submission. Manuscripts that do not meet scientific standards will not proceed to review.

The pre-review includes checking the article’s format, layout, photos, charts, citations, and reference list, along with the overall structure and systematic writing. Plagiarism is checked using Google Scholar and Plagiarism Checker X.

The editorial team will notify authors of the analysis results as soon as possible, ideally within 4–6 weeks.

Reviewers may request revisions, and the article may be sent for re-evaluation after revision. The final decision to accept the manuscript lies with the Chief Editor, based on reviewer recommendations.

Submission & Peer Review Process (Key Steps)

  1. Author submits all required materials, including copyright form and separate cover letter.
  2. The editor checks if the article fits within the journal’s scope and evaluates its merit, clarity, grammar, and formatting. Technical rejections occur if authors include names/affiliations in the manuscript, or if tables/figures are missing or format guidelines are not followed.
  3. Once approved for review, the manuscript is sent to two or three peer reviewers.
  4. Reviewers evaluate the manuscript and send their feedback to the editorial office.
  5. The Editor-in-Chief releases the reviewers’ comments to the authors.
  6. Authors revise the manuscript and respond to reviewer feedback.
  7. The revised article may be sent out for re-review.
  8. The Editor-in-Chief makes the final decision: accept, reject, accept with minor changes, or send for a third review.
  9. If accepted, the author submits the final version for publication.
  10. The article is placed in the “in-press” queue. Before publication, the publisher sends galley proofs to the author. No edits may be made after galley approval.
