GAMBARAN HARGA DIRI PADA PENDERITA TUBERKULOSIS PARU DI RUMAH SAKIT IMELDA PEKERJA INDONESIA (IPI) MEDAN TAHUN 2022

Abstract

Pulmonary Tuberculosis can interfere with the physical and psychosocial conditions of patients which affect the self-esteem of patients with pulmonary TB. The purpose of this study was to determine the description of self-esteem in patients with pulmonary TB at Imelda Indonesian Workers Hospital (IPI) Medan. The design of this study uses a descriptive research design. The population is all patients with pulmonary TB who are registered at the Imelda Indonesian Workers Hospital in Medan, with a total of 32 people per year 2018. The sampling method used is total sampling with a sample of 32 respondents. This research was conducted in May-August 2022 at Imelda Indonesian Workers Hospital (IPI) Medan. The variable studied was self-esteem in patients with pulmonary TB. The research data was taken using a questionnaire. The results showed that most of the respondents had a normal level of self-esteem measurement, namely 18 respondents (65.3%) and a small proportion had a low self-esteem measurement level, namely 6 respondents (18.8%). Seeing the results of this study, it is necessary to have counseling activities in order to further minimize the frequency of respondents who have a low level of self-esteem measurement..
